Multi-Day Coastal Rowing Adventures
Explore Maine’s wild islands by row boat with an experienced guide.
“The two-day excursion unfolded like a dream — exploring new waters, weaving between picturesque islands, spotting seals and porpoises, camping under open skies, and sharing sunrises, sunsets, laughter, and connection.
These kinds of experiences are only possible when rooted in trust and safety, and Leigh and Dameon created exactly that.”

Rowing to Wild is the only company offering overnight trips to Maine’s island via rowboat, and our custom-built coastal quad is the only one of its kind in the world. This is truly an experience like no other.
We’re currently scheduling Adventure Rows for the summer of 2026. Contact us today to schedule an exploratory chat to see if we can create the adventure of your dreams!
See our Adventure Row FAQ to learn more about our small-group, custom coastal rowing adventures.
Our overnight adventure rows are offered to rowers with at least 6 months of sliding-seat rowing experience. See our Rowing Lessons page if you are interested in learning to row!
Trips in the quad require four rowers to be fully registered 30 days prior to the trip dates. If you are interested in an overnight trip in the quad but don’t have a full four rowers, there may be opportunities to join another group of similar skill, fitness level, and goals.
Each journey is truly unique. The specific route for each trip will vary, customized for the weather as well as the group’s interests and skills. We take pride in carefully crafting each adventure to provide the right balance of challenge and fun.
These are not simple sightseeing trips. You will most likely test your limits, learn new skills, and change your concept of what you’re capable of. You will intimately experience the forces of wind and waves, and develop an appreciation for the tides. You will have the chance to learn through doing in all aspects of expedition rowing: loading the boat for proper trim, navigating open water crossings, rowing through rough water, communicating to other vessels, beaching and securing the rowboats at night, and following Leave No Trace rules for back country camping.
“It was more than just an adventure — it was a reset, a reminder of what’s possible when you say yes. I’ll carry this trip with me, and I can’t wait to do it again.”
